During my career I have had the opportunity to extensively work with people from all walks of life. Since 1991 I have specialized in purpose specific training with athletes, over a variety of sports codes, at different competitive levels ranging from school, international, world class and professional. A competitive athlete, first athletics and rugby, then bodybuilding. I became a Springbok in 1993 and won the IFBB Overall Bodybuilding Mr. South Africa in 1999.
I was privileged to be able to represent my country on the international stage from 1993 to 2006, when I chose to officially retire from competition. 12 years on. I continue to train and maintain my physical condition. My belief is that to be successful, it is a “life requirement” that all aspects need to be in balance. Physical, mental and emotional. My qualification in Sports Psychology coupled with Sports Conditioning enables me to offer the best well rounded instruction. Knowledge is the key. I have a strong connection with the MIND/BODY principals and conduct training workshops for athletes, individuals and teams wanting to enhance their performance and develop their mental skills. Teaching mental toughness, how to win principals, how sport and participation can improve performance and general well-being.
I conduct seminars at schools, clubs, provincial organizations and businesses.
Sports Psychology is not limited to athletes, but can be applied to other problems not only related to sport, but other aspects like coping with injury, life stress, time management and can aid anyone wanting to improve their lifestyle commitment. The best way to choose a health club is to EXPERIENCE it.
